Due giorni di motori a Sestriere, che ha ospitato per la seconda volta lo spettacolo della Supermoto con la quinta e ultima prova del campionato europeo con gli specialisti di questa disciplina che hanno portato sul comune più alto d’Italia questo mix tra lo stile di guida del motocross e della velocità con curve, pieghe e derapate su asfalto e un piccolo tratto di offroad. Sono stati loro a sfidarsi sul tracciato realizzato appositamente sulla cittadina del comprensorio sciistico della Vialattea, a 2.035 metri di altezza.

Due le manche che si sono corse oggi davanti a un pubblico eccezionale, grazie anche alla bella e soleggiata giornata che ha favorito anche la parte agonistica della manifestazione. 
La prima manche è stata vinta da Thomas Chareyre in sella alla sua moto TM ufficiale. Dopo il tentativo di fuga iniziale del tedesco Markus Class (Phoenix Racing Team - Husqvarna), frenato dopo otto giri al comando da una foratura, il francese ne ha approfittato passando a condurre la gara fino al traguardo, che ha tagliato davanti al ceco Milan Sitniansky (Phoenix Racing Team - Honda) e al francese Nicolas Cousin (Phoenix Racing Team - Honda). Quarta piazza per Elia Sammartin (Phoenix Racing Team - Honda) sesto Luca D’Addato (Extreme Team – Honda) e ottavo Gioele Filippetti (Birba Racing Team - TM).

Altrettanto elettrizzante la seconda manche che ha visto Class e Cousin alternarsi al comando fino a due terzi di gara, quando il campione in carica è riuscito a trovare un varco e portarsi al comando della corsa aumentando il ritmo per andare a vincere la gara e anche il titolo 2019 davanti a Markus Class e al vicentino Elia Sammartin. 
Sesta piazza per Luca D’Addato che taglia il traguardo davanti a Sammartin. Decimo Filippetti.
La classifica assoluta di giornata del round di Sestriere vede così l’affermazione di Chareyre, secondo Cousin, terzo Sitniansky, quindi Bunod, Sammartin, D’Addato, Hintz, Class, Filippetti e Pals per i primi dieci.

A Chareyre, dunque, il terzo titolo continentale lasciando ai pur bravi contendenti Class e Sammartin rispettivamente il secondo e terzo posto.
Nella classe S2 Junior Cup il titolo è stato assegnato al pilota tedesco Jannik Hintz (Husqvarna), mentre il titolo 2019 della Lites Cup è andato al pilota del Birba Racing Team, Gioele Filippetti (TM).

L’appuntamento con la Supermoto che conta è ora fissato per il prossimo 22 settembre con la sfida per nazioni con il Supermoto of Nations che si svolgerà a Carole, in Francia.
